Advice from Professor Anthony “Doc” Maltese in William Paterson's Communication Department led Marianne Autorino, MA ’78, and her late husband Mike to establishing an industrial film business that was fueled by a passion for the impact railroads had on the United States.
“Doc Maltese’s support and training helped us meet all kinds of challenges with innovative ideas, which earned us two Gold Camera Awards from the U. S. Industrial Film Festival,” she says. “This relationship led me to give back by establishing the Michael and Marianne Autorino Endowed Scholarship in Communications.”
After establishing the scholarship, Autorino continued to work with the University by serving on the Hobart Manor Revitalization Committee—which is dedicated to providing leadership and fund-raising support for the historic landmark at the center of the University’s campus.
“So much had already been accomplished, but I saw the need for more support,” she says. “That's when I decided to make a donation to create a charitable gift annuity that will ultimately benefit Hobart Manor.”
